I'm from Glasgow and in shall we say the over 50 age range. I saw Clare in Glasgow on Friday night (23rd April) and what struck me was the wide age range of the audience. there were lots of people older than me, but also people in their 20s, 30s 40s - also some young children. How many Jazz singers can boast such a wide appeal. It's obviously her fabulous voice, her choice of material, but also her warm and witty patter with the audience. It's the first time I've seen Clare live. Hurry back, Clare!
I love Brazilian music and have suggested to Clare that she does the Brazilian songbook - not just the usual Girl from Ipanema stuff but more feisty left-field stuff by people like Elis Regina, Gal Costa, Tania Maria.
