Having only recently completed my 'back catalogue' collection of Clare's CD's, The Road Less Travelled album is new to me. Imagine then, my shock that I didn't even know Clare had recorded a duet with Mr Cullum. Reading some older forum entries on the subject, I see he divides opinion. Not in our house! As it's Friday & I'm in a 'pleasant mood' all I will say is I don't like him & neither does Posh. However, I do love CD & the song. For anyone who hasn't heard it, I refer you to 'Ebenezer Chapel' where there is, for me, a much better version (minus said Jamie.)
Clare currently does some gigs with Pee Wee Ellis, which is a must for any one who hasn't seen them together. This all made me think about who else Clare would be great on stage with & perhaps a fun topic for the forum, as I can think of loads of possibilities.
However, if I had to choose one, my 'dream team' would be Clare with Bette Midler. Any one who went to the Christmas gigs will have greatly enjoyed Cool Yule & Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian for Merry Xmas) done just as well as Bette. I think they could do a great version of Messing with Fire together & with both of their sense of humours it would be the funniest gig ever.
Thoughts anyone
